travel europe germany schleswig holstein timmendorfer strand the strand / beach

Timmendorfer strand (beach) is a beautiful sandy coastline on the Bay of Lubeck on the Baltic Sea.
The sea is somewhat cool, but the summer days are warm and sunny.
There are what seems to be miles of beach with a pier near the main part of town.
The part of the beach we visited was somewhat towards the west end where they rented strand korbs, beach baskets, if you came early enough.
These strand korbs consisted of single or double beach chairs complete with a tent-like cover for shade or privacy.
If you took a long walk to the east, through the clothing optional beach, you would eventually come to the pier.
